Kemoverse

A long time ago, perhaps centuries, a large event tore the world and its inhabitants apart and resulted in the world today. Evidence remains to tell of a complex life on Earth that had a lush, sprawling ecosystem of our precursors, yet not ancestors; an impressive interconnected life, yet a dooming depiction of an evolved world. It is not the same today, Kemona, and so for us to not meet the same doom, we must learn and follow, listen and do, as is it your duty for survival.

We call it the beginning of our species and the birth of Novah, since we perceive their lives ending abruptly at that time, caused by a sudden, apocalyptic event of destructive scale. The same destruction caused an uprooting of the Earth itself, of which we currently live in the destroyed phase - as by the rule of law of Novah; scorching precludes flourishing - and thus, the environments we live in are dangerous, the overgrown jungles of the wilderness toxic, and our reality is that we can easily die, just like them.

Your body and life

All Kemona own a flawed, yet capable body as descendent from Novah, as told by legends and traditions. Evolved, from the precursors mentioned before, in a way unknown to us. Flawed, obviously and painfully so from trying to imitate their lives and manners on their spaces and buildings. Although, you still live, and you can accomplish things. Therefore, to remind you, your body has...

  • a strong skeleton of varying sizes and dimensions, and a smooth, fluffy fur in gentle colors, as yourself, but also painted for fun.
  • a flexible tail that expresses with your limbs, that conveys directly and playfully. You can gesture poses, dances and motions to entertain or to tell.
  • a delicate pair of ears that hears very well, conversations from far or near that you can adjust yourself. They can flop and twist together with your face.
  • a sharp pair of eyes with excellent vision, in both day and night.

It is a body for work, whether it be in group or alone, but always for the purpose of accomplishment. You work by climbing, crawling, chasing, carrying, all things explorative and productive that benefits you, and preferably, someone else. You eat what you find or feed yourself responsibly from others, you sleep when suitable and mind your space and schedule of others, and you let your instincts and selfish impulses be buried until appropriate to the traditions. As you do new things, the body might feel stale or awkward, particularly when exploring new spaces or techniques, this is normal.

Not only is this the body you have to work with, but also one that you use to communicate with. All Kemona share roughly the same speech and behaviors beyond the localized cultures and dialects.

Mindful of Novah

Other than the physical are the mental matters. What you should keep in mind is Novah - the spiritual explanation for our lives as collectively settled on as naturally concluded with time. In it, is the additional guidance for deriving a purpose in what you do. It tells the story of our common ancestor, also called Novah, fearlessly fighting for survival in the apocalyptic world of the past, fighting, multiplying, doing anything to exist. At the end, she sacrificed herself for her offspring, and those are the ones that has eventually led to us today.

Novah also refers to nature itself, referring to the various punishments but also offerings of the world. While it is in a state of destruction, it is still lenient enough to reward us for good work and dedication. The bitter rain, frosty snow, pushing wind or scorching sun, they are what they are as hurtful they feel, but the cause is not bad luck or bad choices, but rather, just Novah's behavior. Similarly, the best use of Novah is to treat is as a potion of strength in times of need to go on.
